Cincinnati Ridge Vents & Roof Ventilation
Do not let your Cincinnati homes ventilation get overlooked! Even though most people do not think of keeping their home’s roof dry, it is an important aspect of the health of your home. Savvy homeowners know that a dry roof can slash utility costs and improve comfort, and even lengthen the life of their roof. Call the neighborhood ventilation experts at Dynamic Restoration of Ohio, and let us help you.
In the summertime, if your roof is properly ventilated, hot air in the attic will be able to escape, reducing the load put on your air conditioning system. During the winter months, proper ventilation will work together with the insulation in your attic to keep snow from melting and re-freezing on the surface of the roof. Call 513-717-1139 today and schedule your free estimate and see how new ridge vents and proper roof ventilation can help your Cincinnati home!
At Dynamic Restoration of Ohio, we install soffit, gable and ridge vents for superior attic ventilation, as well as other types of vents. With over 13+ years of expertise, we are the area’s premier roofing company.
Types of Ridge Vents
There are a few main types of ridge vents to consider in a passive (or non-electrical) ventilation system:
- Ridge vents – Installed along the ridge of the roof, and the most important in any passive roof ventilation system. Accumulated hot air in the attic rises through convection, before escaping through the ridge vents.
- Soffit vents – Run parallel to the eaves along the soffit, working with both gable and ridge vents to ensure your ventilation system is running at peak efficiency.
- Gable-end vents – Installed near the peak of a gable end. This screened vent will allow hot air to leave the attic, or for fresh air to enter. This is dependent on wind direction and temperature.
- PAV, or Powered Attic Ventilators – These come in many forms, with some made to be roof-mounted and others to be mounted on an attic floor or gable-end. Without exception, though, every PAV contains an electric powered fan most often directly controlled by an internal thermostat. This measure is not usually necessary if your passive ventilation system is working correctly. For this reason, most roofing experts believe a passive system is best.
